The ICE District’s development is fueled by the optimism of what Edmonton can be – a destination for people from all corners of the city, the country and the world. Twenty-five acres of gathering spaces in the heart of Edmonton’s growing downtown. It’s a place to meet, a place to celebrate, and a place visitors will never forget.


With 160 km of maintained trails, running or walking along the River Valley trails is truly wonderful — easily accessible to downtown, paved trails, with river views and beautiful parks. These trails are perfect for jogging, cycling and nature enthusiasts. Run or stroll through the winding paths, be surrounded by wildlife and take in the beautiful views of the cityscape.


For those aged 35 and over, Masters Athletics – track and field, road racing, and cross country running – has an international following from elite athletes to weekend warriors. Masters Athletics is a pay-to-play sport. The inclusiveness and multi-disciplined approach to the sport makes it an ideal community-based competition. Masters Athletics has a significant social aspect that brings people from across the globe together for fun and competition.
